The Cape May Ferry, also known as the Cape May-Lewes Ferry, is a ferry boat where you load both yourself and your car onto a ship and cross the Delaware Bay for a 17 mile journey that goes from New Jersey to Delaware. The trip takes about 1 1/2 hours and is a neat experience. You should at least do it once! Another option is to park your car and just ride it as a foot passenger. There are shuttles that take you to shopping areas and other areas.
Car fares range from $30 to $44 based on the season for one direction. You get a discount if you book a return trip as well. Foot passengers pay up to $10 based on the seas, while younger children have discounted fairs and under the age of 6, children ride for free. You must book your return trip at the same time as your initial ticket for this option. Shuttle fees run about $4.00 a person – while again small children are free.
